Free tier is excellent for small teams — 3 design files with full features
Extensive plugin marketplace

Weaknesses

Learning curve for non-designers
Pricing jumps when scaling beyond free tier
Performance slows on very large files
Requires internet connection
AI features still maturing

Key features

Design user interfaces for web and mobile with professional vector tools
Build interactive prototypes with animations — no code needed
Real-time collaboration — multiple people design simultaneously
Design system features keep your brand consistent at scale
Developer handoff generates CSS, measurements, and asset exports

AI features

AI design generation from text prompts, automatic layer naming and organization, AI-assisted prototyping, smart selection suggestions, and visual search across design files.

STOA verdict

The gold standard for design collaboration. The free tier is generous for small businesses, and freelance designers almost certainly already know it. The right choice for nearly any team building digital products.
